Good to Know

Notary questions, answered

Can you give me legal advice or help me prepare my documents?

No. I am a notary public, not an attorney, and cannot give legal advice. I can't help you choose, prepare, or fill out documents. If you have questions about your documents, please consult an attorney before your appointment.

What does a notary actually do?

A notary verifies the identity of each signer, confirms they're signing willingly, and records the notarization in an official journal. A notarization does not make a document legal or true — it confirms who signed it.

Which IDs are accepted?

A current California driver's license or ID card, a U.S. passport, a driver's license from another state, or a U.S. military ID are the most common. Other government-issued IDs may qualify — call us if you're unsure. If a signer has no acceptable ID, ask us about credible-witness options before booking.

How much does notarization cost?

Our notary fees follow the maximum set by California law. Mobile appointments also include a travel fee, which is quoted when you book and confirmed with you before your appointment — so there are no surprises.

Where do you travel for mobile appointments?

We serve Modesto, Stockton, Tracy, Manteca, Turlock, and the surrounding Central Valley — including homes, offices, hospitals, and assisted living or care facilities.

Can you notarize for someone in a hospital or care facility?

Yes. The signer must be able to communicate, understand what they're signing, and sign willingly, and they still need acceptable ID. Let us know the facility when you book so we can plan around visiting hours and policies.

Do all signers need to be there?

Yes. Every person whose signature is being notarized must appear in person, with their own valid ID.
