Privacy Policy

Last updated October 18, 2026

Sunwell Insurance Solutions LLC (“Sunwell,” “we,” “us”) is an independent insurance agency based in Modesto, California (CA License #4275646). Protecting the information you trust us with is part of protecting you. This policy explains what we collect through sunwellinsurance.com and our related services, how we use it, and the rights you have under California law.

The short version

  • We collect information you choose to give us, mainly to quote, place, and service your insurance.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We share your information with insurance companies only when needed to quote or service coverage you ask about.
  • You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information at any time.

Information we collect

Over the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information. What we collect depends on the coverage you ask about; we only request what carriers need to quote and underwrite it.

  • Identifiers and contact details — name, email, phone number, mailing address, and IP address.
  • Insurance and financial information — current policies, claims history, property and vehicle details, and business information such as revenue, payroll, and operations.
  • Characteristics used in underwriting — such as date of birth, gender, and marital status, where carriers use them to rate a policy.
  • Sensitive personal information — such as driver's license numbers for auto quotes, and Social Security numbers or health information for life insurance applications. We collect these only when an application requires them.
  • Internet activity — basic technical information like browser type, device, pages viewed, and approximate location from your IP address, collected by our website hosting and security providers.
  • Professional information — job title, licenses, or industry, for business and professional liability coverage.

We collect this information directly from you, from your current insurance documents when you share them, and from carriers and consumer reporting sources (such as driving records and claims history) as part of the quoting process, as permitted by law.

How we use your information

  • To prepare quotes, compare carriers, and place and service your policies.
  • To respond to your questions and keep you informed about your coverage, renewals, and claims.
  • To verify identity, prevent fraud, and keep our systems secure.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations as a licensed California insurance agency.
  • To understand how our website is used so we can improve it.

We use sensitive personal information only to provide the insurance services you request — never to infer characteristics about you or for any purpose beyond what California law permits.

How we share your information

We share personal information only as needed to serve you:

  • Insurance companies and wholesalers — when you ask us to quote, place, or service coverage, at your direction.
  • Service providers — companies that help us run our business under contracts that restrict their use of your information, such as our website host, email provider, and customer relationship management (CRM) platform.
  • Legal and regulatory — when required by law, subpoena, or a regulator such as the California Department of Insurance.
  • Business transfers — if our agency is merged, acquired, or transfers client accounts, subject to this policy.

Information collected in connection with an insurance transaction is also protected by federal and California insurance privacy laws, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the California Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act. Where those laws apply, some of the rights below may be handled under them instead.

We don't sell or share your information

We have not sold or shared personal information in the past 12 months, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the information of anyone under 16. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and honor your choice to opt out. You can record that choice anytime on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. We also treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid opt-out request.

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you, how we use it, and who we share it with.
  • Access a copy of the specific personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete your personal information, subject to legal record-keeping requirements.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information — though we already use it only for permitted purposes.
  • Equal treatment — we will never deny service, charge you more, or treat you differently for exercising these rights.

California “Shine the Light” law. California Civil Code § 1798.83 lets residents ask whether a business shares personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

How to make a request

Email connect@sunwellinsurance.com or call (209) 629-7426. To protect you, we will verify your identity by matching information you provide with what we already have. You may also use an authorized agent, who must provide your signed permission. We will confirm your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will let you know why.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website does not currently use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Our hosting and security providers may use strictly necessary cookies to keep the site secure and working, and our quote forms may use cookies to process your submission. We store your opt-out choice in your browser so we can remember it. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this policy and respect your opt-out choices and GPC signals.

Third-party websites

Our website may link to sites we don't control, such as insurance company portals for payments and claims. This policy doesn't cover those sites, and their privacy practices may differ from ours, so please review their policies before sharing information with them.

Calls, texts, and emails

When you request a quote, you agree that we may contact you by phone or email about your request. We send text messages only if you separately agree to receive them, and consent is never a condition of purchase. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time by replying STOP to a text, clicking “unsubscribe” in an email, or telling us directly. We may still contact you about policies you hold with us.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Quote requests that don't become policies are generally kept for up to three years. Client and policy records are kept for as long as you are a client and afterward as required by California insurance record-keeping rules.

How we protect your information

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us right away if you believe your information has been compromised.

Children

Our website is intended for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children. Information about minors, such as a teen driver on a family auto policy, is collected only from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least once a year. When we make changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
